I’m a multimedia journalist currently working at gal-dem as the first person editor. I also freelance as a writer, specialising in reported features and opinion on digital culture, popular culture, lifestyle and sometimes politics. Currently I host a bi-weekly podcast called Broccoli Book Club, which is all about reading books that are good for you.

I have appeared on radio as well as television to debate contemporary issues and my work has been featured in publications like VICE, Refinery29, Bustle, The Independent, Cosmopolitan, DAZED, i-D etc.

I’ve also written a free resource for new writers called The Freelance Fraud which detailed my journey of being a freelance journalist.

I was born in Uzbekistan and moved to the UK at the age of 10. I’m a native speaker of Russian and Uzbek (although the latter is very rusty.) I also hold a History of Art degree from the University of Warwick. I’m passionate about magnifying marginalised voices and making the media landscape more accessible.
