I’m a multimedia journalist, currently working at gal-dem as the first person editor. I’m also a columnist for The Face, where I write about climate change.

In my spare time, I freelance as a writer, speaker and podcaster, specialising in reported features and opinion on digital culture, popular culture, lifestyle and sometimes politics. I write for a variety of exciting publications including VICE, The Guardian, The Face, MEL Magazine, i-D, DAZED, Huck Magazine, The Calvert Journal and more.

Recently, I was the host of the podcast Broccoli Book Club and the award-winning podcast Your Broccoli Weekly.

I was born in Uzbekistan and moved to the UK at the age of 10. I’m a native speaker of Russian and Uzbek (although the latter is very rusty.)

If you’d like to commission me or contact me about an exciting project, please email diyora.shadijanova@gmail.com. Please note, I do not accept unpaid work or speaking requests.
